Canola Performance Trials

Canola Performance Trials (CPT) represent the next generation in variety evaluation for Western Canadian canola growers. The three Prairie canola grower groups – Alberta Canola Producers Commission, Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission (SaskCanola) and the Manitoba Canola Growers Association – fund the program. The Canola Council of Canada delivers the program on their behalf. Trials provide relevant and unbiased performance data that reflects actual production practices, and comparative data on leading varieties and newly introduced varieties. Results for 2016 are based on 13 small plot trials and a number of field scale trials across the Prairies.

Small-plot trial results from the 2016 growing season have now been added. Field-scale trial results are coming soon and will be posted here when available.

The CPT technical committee established protocols and developed research plot designs to ensure that the data is representative. All sites were inspected to verify these guidelines were followed.
